Our Multitool MT482 2x48 attachment can extend your capabilities far beyond traditional bench grinders. The additional length provides an extra long top platen for straightening, flat finishing, or profiling longer edges. Additionally, the longer belt length offers increased belt wrap on the underside slack belt surface for external contouring and blending. The front contact wheel can be used for smooth controlled grinding, contouring, or internal finishing. The bonus 7-inch disc sander on the side offers plenty of surface area to work with for beveling, deburring, squaring, and general sanding. Multitool Attachments fit almost any bench grinder with a 1/2" or 5/8" shaft.

Multitool 2” x 48” Grinder Attachment

Alignment of parts is excellent, Belt tracks straight and true with a few simple adjustments done during assembly. Machined rotating parts are precise vibration free. I have two concerns. 1) the attachment points (3 of them) to my 1hp Jet grinder, are Under-machined, but not Multitools problem in the sense that Jet manufactures the grinder housing out of cast aluminum and the 3 attachment points weren’t meant to hold the weight of the Multitool. They were in fact meant to attach the grinder wheel shroud. I don’t see any way to strengthen the attachment of the Multitool to the grinder housing. 2) The Multitool is, for the most part, robustly manufactured out of stiff and thick steel….EXCEPT for the platen. It is held in place by two nuts on only one side. Indeed for rigidity of the platen, it should be attached to the extension are on both sides of its surface. Aside from these two issues, the Multitool is extraordinarily well made and versatile.

Bad Ass Grinder

I bought the 2"x48" attachment and put it on my 1hp bench grinder. This grinding arm with a 40 grit belt just rips through the metal that i am working with. I use the 80 grit disc for putting precise angles on my metal. Awesome tool.

I have been using my multitool 2 " x 48" for my knife making hobby. Some of my friends told me that i needed to spend $3000 for a good knife making grinder. I have been using the multitool now for the last 5 months and the quality of my knifes is just as good as my friends. I am glad i got the multitool attachment. i really love it.

I bought the 2" x 48" multitool attachment and put it on my bench grinder. I was very impressed with the quick belt changes and the cutting speed of the belts.
